The Finnish 3Rs Annual Symposium 2026

Finnish 3R Center (FIN3R) is proud to invite you to join us for the FIN3R Annual Symposium 2026, which will be held in Kuopio, from October 27-29th, 2026. This year's theme is "Partners in Progress: People, Animals, and the 3Rs"

Over the two days, you will have an opportunity to attend the lectures by national and international experts, whose works directly relies on the 3R principles.

Registrations to attend the Symposium are open and possible via this link. 

Additionally, the Power Analysis workshop by Petteri Piepponen will be held on October 27th, 2026, from 13.00-16.00.

The workshop will be fully online. Please note that the number of participants is limited (20 participants).

To join, please send a short application, describing your motivation for the workshop (up to 400 words). Application for the workshop are possible on this link by October 6th, 2026. Selected applicants will be contacted with more information regarding the workshop by October 13th, 2026. Preference will be given to applicants who submit an abstract.

We invite abstracts from students and researchers which will be judged for the FIN3R Symposium award.

Authors of selected abstracts will be invited to give a short presentation at the event and the replacement/refinement/reduction protocol will be published in a protocol publication.

For animal caretakers across Finland:

We invite caretakers, technicians, and anyone working with lab animals to submit their stories and experiences about how to make lab animals' lives better. Submissions are open until September 28th, 2026 on this link.
